Crime in Swanscombe
It won’t surprise you to hear that I receive more letters and emails about crime than any other issue. And, if these letters are any indication, the problem is getting worse.
Asking for “something” to be done hasn’t gotten us anywhere, so now I want to be more specific.
I’m writing a plan for reducing crime in Swanscombe. This will outline exactly what investment is needed, and where. I want to be able to say, we need lights on this street, locks on these gates, more police presence here, here and here – and so on. But to do all that, I need all the details, and I can only get them from you.
Please, can you take a few minutes to fill in this survey
It’s only 8 questions, and it’s entirely anonymous. I would also appreciate it if people could pass it on to others in Swanscombe.
I’ll also be delivering paper copies to residents, and I’ll be visiting people to ask about their experiences – if you or anyone you know would like a visit please just let me know. And of course, if you have any other thoughts to add you can contact me directly:
Finally, I’m going to blatantly steal a great idea from a resident and ask people to tag any facebook/twitter posts on this issue with #SwanscombeCrime, and I’ll include these stories too.
I’ll be having a meeting to discuss the results – venue and time to be confirmed once I know how many people want to attend and when they’re free. If you want to come to this meeting and help finalise the plan, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
